Cairo – Mubasher: Orascom Development Egypt announced the gradual reopening of its hotels in El-Gouna starting from 15 May.

All El-Gouna hotels will be open by 21 May, while Taba Heights Hotels will be reopened on 21 May, the company said in a statement to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) on Monday.

The government has allowed hotels to operate at a maximum capacity of 25% from 15 May to 1 June then at 50% by June.

We have used the time of the temporary suspension of the hotel operation to monitor WHO guidelines, government mandates, and public health advancements to tailor and implement sanitation and staff training programs that ensure our hotels continue to provide a safe haven for our guests and staff,” interim CEO of Orascom Development Egypt, Abdelhamid Abouyoussef, said.

The company expects local travel to increase with the suspension of international travel due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

In appreciation of the situation and the travel uncertainties, the Group has released flexible booking terms and conditions,” he added.

It is noteworthy to mention that in 2019, the company’s net profits soared to EGP 705.55 million from EGP 500.19 million in 2018, including minority shareholders’ rights.
